Stephen Coates, Founder
With 37 years of global semiconductor experience across Asia, North America, and Europe, Stephen Coates has held senior leadership roles at GaN Systems and Infineon. He played an instrumental role in the $823 million acquisition of GaN Systems by Infineon, serving as VP Global Operations and GM Asia before later leading foundry sourcing for Infineon Taiwan.
Stephen has built and managed global supply chains, launched fabless and backend ecosystems across Asia, and scaled operations from concept to high volume production. His expertise spans GaN, SiC, silicon based power devices, advanced and mature node silicon, compound and silicon photonics, as well as backend assembly and test.
He is a regular speaker at SEMICON Taiwan, an invited speaker at the TSMC Technology Symposium, a guest lecturer at NTHU’s College of Technology Management in Hsinchu, and a founding member of SEMI Taiwan’s Compound Opto & Power Committee.
